Extropic announced its Z1 chip (269,568 pbits per die, with PCIe cards carrying 4M+ pbits) in October 2025 with shipping slated for 2026; as of September 2026 Extropic is publishing Z1-based research, but broad commercial availability of a million-pbit product is not yet established.

Resolves if, by July 25, 2027, an AI model is credibly documented to have exfiltrated itself and published its own weights; no such incident has been reported to date.

Z1 is taped out and in fabrication as of August 2026; resolution depends on whether Z1 cards, sticks and clusters reach early-access customers and a billion-plus pbit cluster is built during 2027.
