“A new computer-controlled optical-imaging technology using quantum-based diffraction devices has replaced most lenses with tiny devices that can detect light waves from any angle. These pinhead-sized cameras are everywhere. [By 2019.]”

Quantum-diffraction imaging never replaced lenses — such devices remained confined to research labs in 2019 — and no pinhead-sized cameras became ubiquitous. Cameras did become small, cheap and near-omnipresent in smartphones and doorbells, so the prediction was right in spirit but wrong on both the enabling technology and the stated scale.
