By 2009 Wi-Fi networking and Bluetooth mice, keyboards and headsets were common, but displays, printers, speakers, charging and most peripheral connections remained wired (USB/HDMI), so cables had not 'disappeared'. Kurzweil scored this correct; critics including IEEE Spectrum disputed that reading.
